Frequently Asked Questions
Delivery, Placement & Site Requirements
Can you expedite delivery in an emergency?
Yes. G Force Containers is experienced in responding to urgent and emergency situations, including natural disasters. If your situation requires expedited service, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline.
How much room is needed for delivery?
All 20’ and 40’ containers are delivered using a tractor-trailer. We require a straight path to pull out from under the container, with a recommended minimum of 100 feet of clearance. If you have limited space, we also have specialized equipment for tighter locations. Contact us for a free site evaluation.
Should my container be placed on anything?
Yes. We do not recommend placing containers directly on the ground unless it is temporary. Suitable options include gravel, railroad ties, concrete blocks, or pressure-treated 6″x6″ posts. We will place the container on the option you choose at the time of delivery.
Can G Force Containers prepare my site?
Yes. We offer site evaluations and can grade or excavate to create a proper foundation for your container.
Can I relocate a container on my property after delivery?
Yes, as long as the container is empty. You may move it using appropriate equipment such as a skid steer, forklift, or tractor. Use caution to avoid damage to the container or your property.
Storage & On‑Site Services
Can you store my container at your yard?
Yes. We offer storage for both loaded and empty containers. Contact us for pricing.
What can I store in a container?
Most household goods, business inventory, tools, equipment, and non-hazardous materials are acceptable.
Prohibited items include flammables, explosives, hazardous chemicals, illegal substances, and perishable food items. If you are unsure, we are happy to advise.
Do containers get hot or cold inside?
Yes. Containers are made of steel and will reflect outdoor temperatures. If you need temperature-sensitive storage, we can discuss insulation or ventilation options.
Are the contents inside my container insured?
We are fully insured to transport empty containers, but your stored contents are not covered under our policy. Please check with your homeowner’s, renter’s, or business insurance provider to confirm coverage.
Container Types, Quality & Customization
What is a “one-trip” container?
One-trip containers are loaded once at the point of origin, shipped to the U.S., and then sold. They are available in 20’ and 40’ sizes and may include variations such as double doors, side doors, or high-cube height. Most are ivory or off-white, though other colors are available. We stock common variations and can source others upon request.
What is the difference between cargo-worthy and wind-and-water-tight containers?
These terms refer to grades of used containers.
Cargo-worthy containers are a higher grade with fewer dents or patches, and the doors typically operate more smoothly.
Wind-and-water-tight containers show more cosmetic wear, may have patches, and the doors may be stiffer. They are priced lower.
We carry both grades and can show you examples to help you choose the right option.
Can I see containers before buying?
Yes. You are welcome to visit our yard in Neola, Iowa to view available units. If you cannot visit in person, we can send photos of specific containers in our inventory.
Can you modify or customize a container?
Yes. We offer modifications such as vents, lockboxes, additional doors, and more. Extensive customizations may require a specialty fabricator, and we can coordinate that for you.
Renting, Purchasing & Payments
How do I pay for my sale or rental?
Once you commit to a purchase or rental, we email an electronic invoice. You may pay by credit or debit card (convenience fee applies), bank transfer, or check at delivery. Auto-pay is available for rentals and rent-to-own plans.
Do you offer rent-to-own?
Yes. Rent-to-own is available for used cargo-worthy 20’ and 40’ containers. Contact us for terms and conditions.
If I rent a container and later decide to buy it, do rental payments apply?
Yes. A percentage of your rental payments can be credited toward the purchase price. We can provide details based on your rental agreement.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Yes. Our minimum rental term is one month. After that, rentals are billed monthly.
Do you buy back containers?
Yes. Buy-back pricing depends on the container’s condition, market demand, and your location.
Delivery Area & Local Regulations
Do you deliver to my area?
We deliver across Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska, including rural and residential locations. Delivery pricing varies by distance and container type. Request a quote for exact pricing.
Does my municipality allow containers?
Regulations vary widely by community and may change over time. Some areas have no restrictions, while others prohibit containers. We strongly recommend checking with your local municipality to ensure compliance before renting or purchasing.
